Is it bad that I am losing weight quickly?
I have been dieting for 10 days now and have already lost 10 pounds. I have yogurt and fresh fruit for breakfast, a turkey burger for lunch, grilled chicken, black beans and fresh baby spinach for dinner and maybe an apple or caneloupe for a snack. I have heard that it is not good to lose weight quickly and that I will hit a plateu and stop losing weight. What can I do to continue the weight lose without hurting myself in the long run?
Why do people act like there is some big secret to losing weight?
Losing weight is as simple as eating less and burning more calories. Running and Cardio will burn you calories and just eat salads and vegetable with grilled chicken.
McDonald's Question (just because I would like to know)?
This article came from http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Diet/Story?id=7026816&page=3 This story says McDonald’s ranks #8 in healthy fast food. Please read first before you answer. Do you agree with this article or do you disagree? And, have you tried any of the foods mentioned?
McDonald’s
14,000 locations nationwide
"Among the big burger-based chains, McDonald’s is leading the way in overhauling its menu to offer more heart- and waist-friendly fare. Take the Happy Meals, which you can order with a side of apple dippers (with low-fat caramel) instead of fries and low-fat milk or fruit juice instead of soda. (Now the trick is just getting your kid to go for them!) And if you’ve gotta have fries, McDonald’s are made in a healthy canola-blend oil and come in at just 230 calories for a small. The Grilled Chicken Classic sandwich and wraps are healthy choices, too (just skip the mayo or sauce). So is the salad with Paul Newman low-fat balsamic vinaigrette. Registered dietitian Moore notes that an Egg McMuffin, at 300 calories, is a smart alternative to other "calorie-laden biscuit breakfasts." And our whole panel commends McDonald’s for spelling out the nutritional information right on the back of its tray liners.
We love: The chain’s 260- to 270-calorie Snack Wraps (choose grilled chicken) for protein without a lot of unwanted carbs.
Danger zone: Although McDonald’s made our list, this is still the land of supersizing and giant sodas. It’s up to you to request a small."
So, what do you think?
Thanks in advance…. Have a great day!
What to eat at McDonald's? (I am an employee)?
I have been working at McDonald’s for almost five months. I am 17 years old and just graduated from high school. Now I have A LOT more time to run and work out and am starting a diet. I am 6′ 2" and weigh 168lbs. I wanted to know if eating (once in a while) a piece of grilled chicken by itself, in a box, is bad for me. Also with no sauces or anything else, just water. The only thing I have eaten there are grilled chicken cesar salads or snack wraps, but I am sick of them now. I honestly eat Subway everyday I work because it is literally next door. I am also proud to say that I have never eaten a piece of hamburger meat there and probably never will. So all in all, is the grilled chicken really bad there? All we do is squirt butter on the grill, drop some grilled breasts, push a button, turn, and then take out. Is it really that unhealthy? Thanks in advance for any answers.
Also as an added note, is this a bad working out schedule?
Eat breakfast around 8:00 A.M, go to class from 9:00-11:00 A.M then eat lunch at 12:00 (usually Subway), run a few miles on track, go to work if I am scheduled, then go to the gym in the evening, only one muscle a day, and after working out, take a protein shake and swim laps. Go home get 8 hours of sleep, rinse and repeat :) Sounds good or no? Thanks again for the response.
Oooh one more thing :) I ALWAYS need something sweet after I eat ANY meal. I usually get one oatmeal raisin cookie at Subway, or a Klondike bar when I am home. I know chocolate is bad for a diet, but is it okay once in while? Or are there any alternatives to satisfy my sugar rushes I always get after having lunch or dinner. THANKS AGAIN :)
