Rice cereal seems to constipate my 5-month old. Do I have to include it in her diet?

Also, please share your baby’s feeding schedule, if you don’t mind. She is now on formula. She has just started veggies. Thanks everyone.
Wow, didn’t expect some people to be so judgmental! I cannot breastfeed for medical reasons, but then again, that’s really no one else’s business. Thanks for everyone who could answer the question kindly. :) It’s people like you that keep me coming back to yahoo answers!

hair loss from weight loss?

i’m 13 and recently lost 53 pounds, in less then i year ( had to lose for medical reasons, was borderline obese), anyway i know that i lost weight to fast, but my weight was never dangerously low and i eat lots of protein, take vitamins and don’t use Straighteners or lots of products, but my hair still continues to fall out. I also take hair vitamins, i am certain my hair loss is from rapid weight loss because i have had blood test done. what can i do to get my hair thick again and can i go completely bald at 13? Someone please help!
I don’t have alopecia areata, and i went to the doctor thats when i got the blood test and she said it was just from weight loss, but she did’nt suggest any treatments
I lost the weight naturaly, with a balanced diet and exercise i never restricted calories to an extreme or took diet pills

How can I eliminate dairy from my diet without getthing thrush?

Inexpensive yet good restaurants by Central Park?

I’m looking for a restaurant that meets the following criteria:

1. within walking distance of Central Park (around W 72nd St)
2. reasonably priced
3. serves steak, or relatively plain (but still tasty) chicken or pork
4. generous portions

My boyfriend is on a very strict diet for medical reasons, so the last two criteria are important. An Italian place or steakhouse would be good, or anywhere that has an extensive menu.

Thank you!

Why do doctors prescribe miralax for children?

I’ve noticed on alot of questions lately, it’s been said by the posters that their children were prescribed Miralax. Whatever happened to prune juice and things like that? Why risk a child’s health for a so called miracle drug that should be distributed to adults only?
Thanks, The mom. I appreciate you extensive input. It clears up alot for me. I use Miralax myself, recently started this past week, actually, because of bowel issues due to my Spina Bifida (I’m 31 now, we tried everything since day one as well). I do believe it is a good drug, but I just feel it may be a little too harsh on a child’s system. I agree that senokot is no good, I never was relieved using that, I just feel that as a child, the tried and true methods should be used rather than going straight to an "adult" drug.

I do realize that dosages vary among adults and children, but when I read that a child is being given Miralax I just can’t see a child living through that. My 4 year old, gets constipated at times, but juice remedies that.
Thank you, Popsy. I agree. While I take meds for obvious medical reasons, I feel that children should only use them when absolutely nothing else works.

My son recently was on an antibiotic as well as an antihistamine due to severe eczema, but I found out it’s nothing but an allergic reaction to our laundry detergent, after I kept asking the doctor about it, I figured it out on my own.

He’s done the antibiotics, but is still on the antihistamine for hives, but again, because I discovered the detergent was the reason, I feel doctors can over medicate or give wrong advice without listening to the patient.
